Grand Auction benefiting Chabad Lugano - This Chanukah!
Dear Friends!
This Chanukah, with your help, we will do something new and exciting, which will help support our beloved community.
We are planning a state of the art 'Silent auction'*.
Here is where you come in: We each have friends, clients or acquaintances which will be glad to offer a donation of an item or service from their company if we ask them sincerely.
Gifts to the auction can range from a coupon to a hairdresser, tickets to hockey game, a few nights in a vacation home, home appliances, paintings or furniture. (Only new items).
The auction will take place together with the Grand Chanukah Celebration on Wednesday evening December 21st, in a festive and joyous atmosphere.
Corporate or private sponsorship are welcome as well.

*Silent auction is an auction in which bids are written on a sheet of paper. At the predetermined end of the auction, the highest listed bidder wins the item. This auction is often used in charity events, with many items auctioned simultaneously and "closed" at a common finish time. The auction is "silent" in that there is no auctioneer selling individual items,the bidders writing their bids on a bidding sheet often left on a table near the item. At charity auctions, bid sheets usually have a fixed starting amount. The highest bidder pays the price he or she submitted. (Wikipedia)
